Jaguar Seat Control Switch Repair 1995 XJ6

I had a problem with moving the seat back after my wife was driving my car. The seat switch would respond to every direction and control with the exception of moving the seat back.

Removed the switch and opened it with my pocketknife.

Removed the removed the electrical control from the housing.

Removed the rubber-molded contacts from the circuit board.

Notice the wear marking in the contacts.

Used an eraser and alcohol to clean both the circuit board and contacts.

I put it together and it worked just fine. I do believe that if it begins to act up again I will sand the contacts lightly and try it again.
